Alnico magnets are a type of permanent magnet made from an alloy of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt. They are known for their high magnetic strength, excellent temperature stability, and good corrosion resistance.

The strength of an Alnico magnet depends on the magnetic field strength it produces at its poles. Alnico magnets can produce magnetic field strength at their poles as high as 1500 gauss (0.15 tesla), or about 3000 times the strength of Earth’s magnetic field .

Of the more commonly available magnets, only rare-earth magnets such as neodymium and samarium-cobalt are stronger than Alnico magnets .

Here are some of the properties of Alnico magnets:

Magnetic Strength: Medium .

Curie Temperature: 1472°F (800°C) .

Max Operating Temperature: 1022°F (550°C) .

Corrosion Resistance: Good 1.

Cost: High .
